Gettings Family Reunion

Dear Family,
Ruth and I drove up to Unicoi State Park and Lodge last weekend and found it to be all we remembered and expected. It is a beautiful spot!
As those of you who have been here might remember, the accommodations are very satisfactory.

Check in time: 4 pm
Check out time: 11 am
Deadline for guaranteed room rate of $110.00 per night: May 14
(reservations can be cancelled up to 72 hours of expected arrival)
There are 2 types of rooms and are the same rates:
· Room with 2 double beds (sleeps 4)
· Room with 2 double beds and a ladder-loft with 2 single foam mattresses (great for kids, not so great for adults!)

Scheduled Events:
Friday, July 18 – arrival day, we plan to be there on Thursday so if you arrive before you can check in at 4:00 we’ll have a place for you to park.

Saturday, July 19 – please look at all the activities and places of interest on the Unicoi and Helen websites to plan activities for the day. Anna Ruby Falls are adjacent to Unicoi.

· 5: 00 pm – Buffet Dinner together at the Unicoi Lodge Restaurant
· We cannot reserve a dining room but by eating early we can take over as many tables as we need.
· Family meeting to follow in the common area.
Sharing time: During the family meeting on Saturday night we would like to hear from a member of each family (children of Sam and Edna Mae) to share memories, funny and/or interesting info and experiences. These will be priceless glimpses into the Gettings DNA! Perhaps someone would like to take all the anecdotes, facts, etc. and print a book…

Sunday, July 20 – breakfast will be available in the common room of the ‘pod’ we are staying in; more details will be provided later.

Other meals will be on your own; there is a restaurant at the lodge and many more available in the Helen area. We can serve snacks and finger food in the common room. There will be 2 small refrigerators in our rooms, available to all, as long as there is space. Feel free to bring your favorite snacks.

· Let us know if you will be attending and the names of all family members that will be with you. We’ll have nametags for everyone attending and don’t want to leave anyone out.

· Make your reservation by May 14; plan to join us and have a great time!
